Air India Business Class – Ground Experience:

#1. Dedicated CheckIn

I arrived at the kolkata airport 3 hours prior to departure , which I generally do. I spend time trying Lounges facilities and roam around the airport. The checkin started for the Airindia  flight CCU-DEL. I approached to the counter , there was separate counter for the AirIndia  Members . So the checkin process was done quickly and here at the counter the staff said there is discount going on for Business class tickets then he explained me the offer and I quickly upgraded my economy class ticket to business class with my Air India Miles at no cost.

#2 . Security

After getting the boarding pass I quickly approached towards the security check. The day was monday and monday morning flights are much crowded so the security area will also be crowed as simple as that . Got upgraded myself to business class and got into different line to get done with my security check it took few minutes as other business class passengers where also waiting in the line. After the checks was waiting for the boarding to start till then looking at the other flights and it was raining that morning there was possibility of flight getting delayed.

Air India Business Class – In flight experience:

#1. Boarding

By the time I reached at boarding gate the boarding had begun already. They provided bus because it was a connecting flight so it was resting on the runway . I quickly got down from the bus and went to board the flight .Within a minute and while am still getting settled in the seat, the Flight Attendant (FA) greeted me with my last name, which was a nice touch. The I quickly took my seats after keeping my hand baggage, as my seats were 1F so it was first row only. They provided with the welcome drink.

Tip : If u want more space for your handbag Kindly board the flight quickly in queue manner.

#2. Seat

The seats of the business class was better than than the economy class recline seats and much leg space to keep leg properly This Airbus A320 Version 2 seats 140 passengers in a two-class configuration and is primarily used on short-haul routes. There are 20 recliner seats in Air India Business Class and 120 standard seats in Economy. The seats were comfortable and there was pillow given along with it.

#3. Food

First of all welcome drink was served as soon as everyone boarded .Everyone was eagerly waiting for the evening snacks as the flight got delayed so they hungary. I understood by looking at their expressions and gossips. Even I was feeling hungary. As soon as the flight took off and captain gave signal and even he admitted for the delay that now you can seat in comfortable manner. The cabin crews started taking their positions and preparing for the snacks distribution. FA came to me with  two options veg and non veg I opted for non veg. Here are the pictures of same.

Welcome Drink pure coco water

Mixed Fruits along with special handkerchief

Non-Veg triple Omlet Meal

New Plates given with the meal

Cheese Butter Bread Sticks

Finally Black Coffee

#4. Service

Well it was my first onboard experience with Air India Business Class. The service was awesome and FAs and Inflight supervisor dedicated her full efforts in serving Air India passengers to their comfortability. They were always available and attending the calls and even newspaper was kept for us read. But one thing I need to say in terms of improvement that they need to be on time. And the Dreamliner business class is far more better than the A320 ones.

Bottom Line:

Air India is one of the best airline in the country compared to other flights, especially known for direct flights and their Business Class product certainly lives up to my expectations. As Air India is a joint venture with Star alliance, i hope they make Air India one of the best airlines in the world, in coming years. I would suggest everyone to try Air India once and get to know their services.
